Sherwood Country Club is a private, member owned golf and country club in Lake Sherwood, California set at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains just south of city of Thousand Oaks. Sherwood is home to a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, driving range and Georgian architecture golf clubhouse.

Sherwood was the host of multiple off-season events. It hosted the Shark Shootout, a team-play event hosted by Australian great Greg Norman, from the event’s inception in 1989 to 1999. It then hosted the World Challenge, a PGA Tour-recognized golf tournament hosted by Tiger Woods each December, from 2000 to 2013.

Sherwood was also the site of the Showdown at Sherwood, the first ever prime-time live golf match, which was played between Tiger Woods and David Duval in 1999.

In 2016, Sherwood became the host of the Champions Tour event, the Power Shares QQQ Championship.

In 2020, Sherwood will now host the Zozo Championship.

The golf course Chervò Golf San Vigilio in Pozzolengo, in the province of Brescia, presents itself since January 2009 with a 27-hole course as well as a 9-hole executive course.

The golf facility extends in the middle of the gentle hills of Desenzano and Sirmione, a beautiful landscape with a varied vegetation and of great historical importance. During your round here you have got a view of the two towers San Martino and Solferino. During the era of Napoleon the third some unimaginably gruesome slaughters took place here – there were so many wounded that the battle was interrupted in order to care for them. This was the birth of the Red Cross organisations (the Italian White Cross).

Furthermore, the golf course is located very advantageously only 3km from the motorway exit Sirmione (A4). Technically speaking the course offers excellent playing conditions thus fulfilling each and every requirement of the golf player. Thanks to its wide fairways and its few out-of-boundaries it offers a relaxing game and especially long-hitters can show their abilities here. The ultramodern club house provides a wonderful view of the course and its surroundings and it has already won the 1st price as the most beautiful club house in Italy. Attached to the golf course you will find an exclusive holiday facility with very comfortable accommodations, a wellness centre and numerous sports possibilities

Chervò Golf San Vigilio – a place where tradition and modern comfort is harmonically united!

One of our favourite picks this week. Will be a shot shapers course this week and no one can move the ball better than Bubba. With five par 5’s and five par threes this place is unique and he sits pretty high in par five scoring and solid on par threes. Last week he topped the field in strokes gained tee to green, just lost on the greens.

His last two events he has lost strokes gained putting, I can see that stat changing this week as this course is right up his alley and will feel at home on these greens for sure.  He will be making lots of birdies and should be near the top of the leader board come Sunday evening.

Am going £5EW with SkyBet 33/1 paying 7 places

Love him or hate him he is still a class outfit and a great player when it comes to the bigger events.

We caught up with him over the week at the BMW at Wentworth and he is such a nice guy, the press have a different view most of the time. He said he loves coming to the UK and enjoys the test over here and boy did he have a good week ending up in a tie for third place.

He didn’t play last week so is well rested and ready for the challenge ahead here at Sherwood country club.

You always get a steady overall performance from Patrick, he never really does anything stupid over the course of a round, a great grinder to have when it gets tough.

Strokes Gained will be the Key factor this week:

  • SG Approach to the Green – 1.627 – 5th PGA Tour
  • SG Putting – 1.288 – 6th PGA Tour
  • SG Total – 2.337 – 6th PGA Tour

Need I say more and with a price of 22’s across the board taken at 9am this morning I am liking that even more.

So with three PGA Tour victories all coming so soon he has drifted off the radar from the bookies. This is what the team and I like and feel this week should be perfect for him to flex his muscles and get posting a low number early doors.

If he has a season close to that of last year he will be challenging again for that Tour title:

2019/20 Recap Results:

25 Events – Made Cuts 18 – Top 25’s 18 – Top 10’s 4 – Winner twice

He said after his final round at the CJ Cup he found something on the greens this week that he was missing, he has been putting more work in on that as well here from what we can see.

At this price he looks good so going with a £5EW Paddy Power 90/1 paying 7 places

So many South Africans making a name for themselves of late on the European Tour and Justin is another one to watch out for.

I am taking a big punt on him but with good reason he played well in Scotland just missing out of a top ten finish with a poor Saturday round of 74. Reason for the big price is due to coming off the back of four straight missed cuts. For me he is very much a in the moment golfer and a feel player and to close with a 63 last Sunday is all the positives I need here this week to back him.

He had a top ten in Italy and only last year, it was a different course but the scoring and feel will be much the same this week.

He does need to start well and I see no reason why he will not carry on from last week’s good work, he looked solid on track man and his wedge numbers looked dialled in. Which will be a big part of this week’s winner.

Well one of our good friends in Marc and whenever we seem to back him he comes up trumps. This week I feel more of the same and a player who is a lot of form and coming of a great win at the Austrian Open back in July.

This week will, as with most weeks come down to the putter he sits in sixth place with putts per GIR and 12th for average putts per round on the European Tour.

So key trends this week and where he features and backs up our pick. Good results in this event in the past, strong greens in regulation followed with a good distance with the driver so should be setting up a few birdies along the way this week. It should be a horses for courses track for Marc so watch this space.

David is finding a nice bit of form of late. Tenth place at the Estrella Masters at the very difficult Valderrama, he then went and missed cut at the Irish Open. Started October at the Scottish Open with a good tied fourteenth place and then the following week a nice tied 13th at the BMW Wentworth.

One of the straightest drivers of the ball on the European Tour which will be a bonus around here as placement from the tee is a must.

Four time a winner on the European Tour with his last win way back in 2014, but with so many strange things happening since lock down and so many winners appearing from nowhere, whilst  showing no form anywhere in years. It could David’s turn to follow suit and maybe add another victory this week.
