I know we never normally back favourites but for me this has to be an odds on backing for this week. He scraped over the line to win the Wells Fargo beating our 125/1 tip Keith Mitchell.

The win for me is what he has been lacking to kick start his climb back to world number one.

Winner at this course back in 2012 so has great memories and should be flying high with confidence it’s a must bet for all this week. Will be betting £10 win only you can get him at 12’s with a couple of bookies, I will be trying to get 14’s on the Exchange see if we get any takers.

We have been waiting for this postman to delivery us a decent package for quite a while now. I feel this could be the week he should give us a good run for our money, and at these odds liking it a lot.

He has been in a good run of form we caught up with him at the Saudi International back in Feb this year and he said he feels the game is clicking into place nicely and was looking forward to the Majors this year and the Open as well as the PGA were top of his list. Of course being Ryder Cup year he is well up for being part of the European Team and is sure to get some big results against the world’s best.

Going for a £5EW bet here with

Adam is coming of a nice break from playing competition golf. His last time out was at the Masters back in April. Where he had a well below average week shooting four rounds in the seventies to finish just outside the top fifty.

His record in Majors is always good reading and should be the same again here this week.

This place should really be a horses for courses fit for his game and he will enjoy the challenge. He is still sneaky long off the tee which will also help around here.

For me Xander is a NAP for this week. The world number four comes into this week in some amazing form. He could have won three times over the past five months so shows you his game is match fit and ready to take on the Ocean Course in South Carolina.

Also a fan of Pete Dye’s style of golf courses and we could see that in the way he was out there in practice this week.

So what aspects of his game will suit around here, well he is a strong strokes gained off the tee player combined with a very solid putter stroke. In fact he is inside the top ten on the PGA Tour for strokes gained putting and total putting again inside the top twenty. He also holds a twenty hole par or better streak which we could see more of this here.

Loving the bet going £5EW

Our old pal Justin has to be nearly ready to get that Major win under his belt. I felt the Masters was too early to play him and I think we were right he started so well shooting a 65 first round taking a four shot lead after eighteen holes but then fell back through the field over the weekend.

This course I believe is set up for a European winner and no one else apart from Rory will be able to grind out scores when the weather gets nasty and the wind gets stronger.

His last time out at the PGA Championship was another solid performance managing yet another top ten only four shots back from Morikawa.

We caught up with him at the Charles Schwab before he started that event and yet again wow what start holding the first round leader position. I believe he will start well again here and could be a good bet for a first round leader, you can get 60’s in places paying 6 places for FRL.

Always a favourite of ours here at GBT and whenever we back him he normally gets us something back. I would have though his odds would have been cut to about 60-80 to one this week after a great result at the AT&T last week but no and am happy to see that.

With nine PGA Tour victories with the last one of those coming back in 2019 at the Mayakoba Classic and also picked up the SMBC Singapore last year with another great week.

We got to know Matt really well when we played against him in a couple of Ryder Cups over the past few years and he is such a nice guy and always gives you a solid week and should do this again here. I see him making the cut and you never know could be the win.

If you also look at his British Open record which let’s be honest this course set will be pretty similar he has gone 9-15-54-58-46-16-2-9-41 since 2012.

All in all should be a great little each way bet never the less.

So Webb being at this price is unheard of. I think the bookies have got this wrong. Just this year alone.

  • Sony Open – 4TH
  • WGC Workday – 6TH
  • Masters – 12TH
  • RBC Heritage – 9TH

So the RBC was the last time he has played and got to see a lot of his weekend play that week inside the ropes and there was so much to like. What stood out for me was his ability to get up and down from everywhere hence the reason he sits in fifteenth place on the Tour for strokes gained around the green, no surprise really.

Not the longest off the tee but feel that could help around here as from what we have seen the longer hitters this week could face the narrower parts of the fairways from the tee. He has a solid greens in regulation play and will carry that on here this week. Should be another good major for him and feel this could also be a good Nap this week.

Love him or hate him he is still a great player to back at a PGA Championship, former winner back in 2011 he went close the following year, just missing out on the chance to make to back to back championships where he finished in a tie for third place in 2012.

There are not that many players here this week that are playing better golf than Brad. He has made eight straight cuts with two top ten’s, three top twenty five’s and two top thirty’s. HOT HOT

The driver is now trending in the right direction and we have seen that over his past few events if this was not the case then he would not be on our list this week that’s for sure. Another key factor for me has been his marked improvement with his putting coach over the past few months this again has given us belief he can get back to winning ways very soon.

I feel all aspects of his game are ready and he should give a good account of himself this week.

Seasoned professional and a journey man if there was one teeing it up this week.

We have only backed him once this year at the Dell match play when he was at 40/1 where he failed to get out of the group stage. So he owes us a good week.

The bookies are giving us a good price here, you can even get 100/1 on the exchange if you’re quick.

I believe his odds will come in a lot before the first tee shot is struck on Thursday.

We were amazed to see that Louis has only won one PGA Tour title, which happened to be the Open Championship in 2010 he has won a lot since then on the European Tour and the South African Tour, in fact thirteen international victories, with the last being his home Open in 2018.

He was made for conditions like this week and with his short game and putting I feel he will be very close to the top of the leader board come Sunday evening.
