Date change for the Estrella Damm N. A. Andalucía Masters! The event will be staged from September 3rd – 6th forming part of the reshaped 2020 Race to Dubai. After the postponement due to the ongoing threat posed by covid-19, the best golfers will be back at the Real Club Valderrama following the Tour’s comprehensive Health Strategy and the recommendation of the local health authorities.

In 2019, and in a stage reserved for world-class winners and fighting against Jon Rahm, an elite golfer carried by the cheers of the huge number of local fans gathered at the Real Club Valderrama, Christiaan Bezuindehout won his first European Tour event in the fifth edition of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters. The South African player showed his great talent and a great capacity to bounce back from his errors to win emphatically against the Spanish Army, although five Spaniards finished in the top seven of this event.

Bezuidenhout’s victory completes a remarkable rise for a player who has had to overcome adversity since a young age. His six-shot victory marks a record in the European Tour tournaments played at the Real Club Valderrama.

Great finish for this Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters that welcomed more than 40,000 attendees, becoming a great family party. The village was the ideal stage of a plethora of concerts and activities, the icing on the cake and the perfect supplement to a golfing event boosted by Estrella Damm as title sponsor and the renewed support of the Junta de Andalucía.

Valderrama Club is one of the best known golf clubs in the world. It is located in the resort of Sotogrande, San Roque in the Andalusia region of southern Spain, a few miles from Gibraltar, and has a single 18-hole course, along with a 9-hole par 3 course.

Valderrama was constructed in 1974 as “Sotogrande New,” to the designs of leading American golf course architect Robert Trent Jones. Renamed “Las Aves” in 1981, it was acquired by Jaime Ortiz-Patiño in 1984. The golf course was redesigned and expanded by the original architect and became “Valderrama.”

By 1999, Valderrama was rated the top course in mainland Europe by Golf World magazine. The practice ground was called the best in Europe by Nick Faldo.

The club’s course was the traditional host of the now defunct Volvo Masters, hosting the event from 1988 to 2008, with a five-year break when the event was moved to the Montecastillo Golf Club.

First up for a good outsider pick for me is Dave this week. You have to be a good and accurate driver of the ball around Valderrama and he is well above the average on the European Tour with over 61%.

Greens in regulation another box ticked for us the putter can blow hot and cold but on average he does perform better than the stats show per week.

Another seasoned professional without a win yet on the ET but his previous form shows us that this could change in 2020. Tied 15th place at the Hero followed by a top ten at the English Championship, missed cut at the Celtic Manor which is not a course suited to his game then followed that with a top 30th at the UK Championship last week even after a poor 73 to open.

He should suit it around here and could see him very near the top of the leader board in round one if he gets out the blocks early.

Big ask to win it but looking at value EW here. Betting £3EW with Boyle Sports paying 7 places. Might also look at a top 10/20 here but the odds are not out as yet.

Another strong contender from the team this week they have been following his progress of the past couple of months since the restart and feel this will be another great week to play him.

66/1 is very generous from the bookies, when you take his last four cuts made he is on average finishing in 15th place overall. Top ten last week with a solid 68 on Sunday where he team were mightily impressed with his ball striking.

The main concern I have with Marcus is the driver he has been doing a lot of work on track man changing club heads and shafts this week so if he has managed to find the right combo then this could be a good thing for us.

But even with that he is a player on form and likes to work his irons each way, and is a very good wind player and this week we are looking at around 15-20mph winds across the course on all four days.

Going with a £5EW bet here with PP 66/1 paying 7 places.

Yet another great big price here with Craig. So what are the main factors to playing well around Valderrama from previous winners? They all came into this week following a good performance the previous week. He had a top five at the UK last week closing with a great 65 on Sunday. He plays a mix of Challenge Tour and European Tour events, since playing on the ET he has showed he can play and complete with the best so will only be a matter of time before he picks up some silverware.

This year alone he has already picked up over 63 thousand euros, I feel he will double that and more by the end of 2020.

Going to bet £3EW here with SkyBet 125/1 paying 7 places

Going with another Scots man here this week with Connor. How has he not won yet is a mystery to me and the team.

His last three events:

  • English Champ – 19th
  • Celtic Classic – 3rd
  • Wales Open – 8th

Stats for this course are some very good reading as well coming into this week:

  • Driving Accuracy – 69.48%
  • Greens in Regulation – 75%
  • Stroke Average – 69.76

Again with most players the flat stick needs to be on song to close out a win, if this works this week then the rest better watch out.

Going for a £5EW bet with PP paying 7 places.

East Lake Golf Club is a private golf club located approximately 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1904, East Lake is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. East Lake was the home course of golfer Bobby Jones and much of its clubhouse serves as a tribute to his accomplishments.

Since 2004, East Lake has been the permanent home of The Tour Championship, the culminating event of the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup. The Tour Championship was first played at the course in 1998. The 2019 Tour Championship and FedEx Cup champion is Rory McIlroy.

All proceeds from operations at East Lake Golf Club. Which is more than $20 million to date go to support the East Lake Foundation, which has helped transform one of the nation’s worst public housing projects into a thriving community.

If you are looking for value and a player who could if he finds his game this week push right up the leader board it has to be Bryson.  Of course this week is the same as last year where the players already start with either a lead or a disadvantage depending on where they are on the FedEx Cup standings. For example DJ sits top with a two shot advantage before a ball has even been played.

To be honest it is very hard to see a player outside the top ten winning it this week as its too many shots to make up.

Bryson is one of those players that can streak and score very low, this is why he is a danger there is only DJ/Rahm and Rory who are in the same bracket for low scoring in order to win an event. Based on that Rory is too far back and DJ and Rahm are both the odds of favourites to win it this week.

So in my opion he has to be good value this week.

Going for a £5EW bet here with PP 22/1 paying only 5 places

Starting at four under par only six back from DJ he really has a great chance of winning this week.

He will be on a lot of draft picks and betting slips for sure, what about his results this season:

Seven top ten’s and a winner at the Charles Schwab back in June, plus a number of top twenty fives as well already. Currently sitting in sixth place on the FedEx Cup, 13th in the world rankings and with three PGA Tour Victories under his belt it could be his year to pick up on of the biggest wins of his career this week.

Stats the team picked up on ready for East Lake:

  • SG-Off the Tee – 17th
  • SG-Approach the Green – 33rd
  • SG-Putting – 14th
  • SG-Tee to Green – 10th
  • SG-Total – 5th

Not much else to say other than he has to be a banker this week.

Going for £5EW with PP 25/1 paying 5 places.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”|600|||||||” text_text_color=”#000000″]

As you know we do not normally go this low in the betting, but I see no reason why we can’t make this bet work.

Simpson is only four back starting this event and at 11/1 across the board it has to be a good bet.

Major champion Webb is looking to add the Tour Championship to his trophy cabinet this week.

We know he is playing well as is most of the players teeing it up this week to get to the final event of the FedEx Cup.

Winner twice already this season at the Waste Management and the RBC Heritage, he also came close at the RSM Classic finishing runner up there and also third at the Wyndham and the Sony Open.

One of the purest iron players on show this week which explains why he sits in 6th place for strokes gained on approach to the green, the putter is not too shabby either. He ticks everything needed around this course and should be a great contender come Sunday evening.

Going for a £5EW bet with William Hill 11/1 paying 5 places
