The Sanderson Farms Championship is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played annually in Mississippi. It moved to the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson in autumn 2014, early in the 2015 season.
The tournament has been part of the PGA Tour schedule since 1968, and has raised more than $8.1 million for state-wide charities. Originally played at the Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, the event moved in 1994 to Annandale Golf Club in Madison, which hosted through 2013.
Since 2013, the tournament’s title sponsor has been Sanderson Farms, a poultry farming corporation based in Laurel, Mississippi. The tournament’s host organization, Century Club Charities, is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501, organization whose mission is promoting the game of golf for the benefit of charity. The Sanderson Farms Championship’s primary charity is Friends of Children’s Hospital, which benefits the Batson’s Children Hospital.
COUNTRY CLUB OF JACKSON
The Country Club of Jackson opened in 1914. It is a private club with 27 championship holes, 18 of which were re-designed by John Fought in 2008 and measure 7,400 yards (6,800 m) from the championship tees. Fought’s layout incorporates classic Donald Ross flavor – parkland style routing with smallish, tricky greens – which range in size from 5,000 to 8,500 square feet (460 to 790 m2).

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is one of the richest golf tournaments on the European Tour. It is played in September, on three different links courses, centred on the “home of golf”, St Andrews in Fife, Scotland.
The tournament is a pro-am, with the format based on the long-running United States PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am held annually since 1937 (except during the Second World War), where each team consists of one amateur and one professional. The three course rotation consists of The Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links and Kingsbarns Golf Links.
The 54-hole cut is made of the top 60 professionals and the leading 20 pro-am teams, regardless of the professional member of the team making the individual cut. These players and teams advance to the final round at St Andrews.
Originally called the Dunhill Links Championship, the event was introduced in 2001 as a replacement for the Alfred Dunhill Cup, a three-man team tournament which became marginalised when the long established World Cup of Golf was given enhanced status as part of the World Golf Championships in 2000, becoming the WGC-World Cup.

OUR PICKS
DENNY McCARTHY 33/1
We have been following Denny for quite some time of late. We liked his performance at the US Open where he had a solid week and finished inside the top ten.
He also followed this up at the John Deere a few weeks later with an even better tied sixth place finish. He then had two missed cuts at the Rocket and the Wyndham but to be fair these are golf courses that do not really suit his game.
It is only a matter of time before he breaks his duck on the PGA Tour and with a much weaker field these days on the PGA Tour I feel the timing is perfect for him to seal the deal here with a good low scoring week.
DYLAN FRITTELLI 100/1
South African born Dylan will have a good week here. World ranked number 171 but in my eyes a top 100 in the world player with ease. He was as low as 44TH in the world at some point over his career so we know he can do it.
The one thing that stands out for me at this track for him has to be his strokes gained off the tee, he ranks inside the top thirty on the PGA Tour. Also his distance from the tee is a big advantage this week where again he ranks inside the top twenty.
His last event was at the Fortinet where his putting was very poor but coming in here the work we have seen him putting in with the flat stick is very encouraging. One to watch and great odds.
HARRIS ENGLISH 40/1
Our top pick for the week is Harris. Going to be our NAP.
Four times a winner on the PGA Tour and what a start to the new season with a great top ten at the Fortinet Championship. Currently sitting in ninth place on the FEDEX Cup, 44 in the world rankings.
Ticks all the boxes for this place and more.
- SG Around the Green – 16TH
- SG Putting – 16TH
- SG Tee to Green – 25TH
- SG Total – 9TH
One of our caddies we know well was on his bag back when he played on the Korn Ferry Tour and he said back then a player to watch out for. Twice a winner last season at the Sentry and the Travelers so knows how to seal the deal if has a chance on Sunday.
Great bet here. Could be out next outright winner in the making for 2022.
NICHOLAS LINDHEIM 150/1
Our Korn Ferry pick who we think will have a great week here. One we have been following for quite some time now and ready to make a name for himself on the PGA Tour.
RICHARD BLAND 150/1
Well after finally getting that winner under his belt on the European Tour he has become a much more relaxed looking golfer out there and has been close to getting that second win a few times since. He was runner up at the Slync Dubai Desert Classic this year making the playoff against a very in form Victor Hovland with Rory McIlroy one shot back as well that week.
We know he is a seasoned professional and links golf is his forte. He has been a runner at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in 2020 and this format of golf really suits his style of golf. He also managed a top five here last year so this backs up our track history.
Could be a steady starter and hopefully another good week ahead for him.
JOAKIM LAGERGREN 160/1
This is a total blind bet here this week for me. I am sticking with the team’s insight here and trusting there judgement.
His current form has not been the best reading but whenever we back Joakim he seems to always deliver for us. The one positive will be the odds here this week we should be getting some good value.
His best result of late on the DP World Tour was at the Porsche Open where he had a poor weekend but still managed to finish in a tie for fifth place.
I had a great chat with him and his team at the BMW a few weeks back in Wentworth, even though that week’s event was only three rounds there was plenty to like. He is also a player who seems to play well in the UK and enjoys links style golf so this week should be right up his alley.
ALEX NOREN 40/1
Our NAP for the DP World tour event goes to Alex here this week.
Previous tournaments all point to this week and what a chance he has this week in getting win number 11 under his belt.
We went through some previous results to back this week’s pick based on set up and courses:
- Alfred Dunhill Links 2021 – 12TH
- Scandinavian Mixed 2022 – 14TH
- Scottish Open 2022 – 30TH
- Barracuda July 2022 – 2ND
Not much to say here other than we could be getting another winner for 2022 under our own belt this week.
EDDIE PEPPERELL 66/1
We backed Eddie at the Czech Masters and he manged us a place but feel he is well overdue a better outcome and this place looks the best option for us. Could be the surprise package we have been looking for.
PETER UIHLEIN 200/1
Not really ever delivered for us has Peter but going to stick with him this week. We have had a few of our team following his progress of late on the Asian Tour and plenty to like. It was from the same source we got Kiradech for last year’s BMW at Wentworth and that went quite well 250/1 second place was a great win for us. More of the same please.
