We all know how good a player Xander is and feel this could be his year to pick up the Claret Jug.
Lower odds than we are used to going for and I see no reason why a lot of people will have him on the betting slips this week.
His Open results read 2017 20TH 2018 2ND 2019 41ST 2020 NT
Not a bad return plus if you take a look at his Major’s for 2021 he was third at the Masters and then another top ten at the US Open. The putter has been the biggest improvement for me over the past season and feel with the standard of the greens here this week he will be holing plenty of putts.
Currently just outside the top ten for strokes gained putting on the PGA Tour and from what we have seen of him in practice and last week he will be inside that top ten come Sunday evening.

He owes us a good week, I have covered him quite a bit over
the past few years and yet to give us the big win. He is playing some of his
best stuff this season we manged to speak to him before he played the Memorial,
back in June. What a week he had there he finished up in fifth place on his
own.
That week he was around 70% accuracy from the tee, another
good week greens in regulation as well. Having said that we noticed his putting
that week was one of his worst stats for the season. This will not be the case
here this week he is ready and looks at home on these greens.
He could even pull away this week over the weekend with his
game being so on point.
Previous results at the Open have been: 2014 MC 2015 20TH
2016 12TH 2017 MC 2018 28TH 2019 10TH
If he finds his feet on the greens Thursday then watch out

I tipped Scottie up for the Masters this year and he gave us a good run finished in 18th place in the end at 40/1.
Another player in rich form 12 top twenty five’s, seven top ten’s and a third place at the Memorial and runner up at the WGC Dell Match-Play. The world number nineteen is well in with a great shot of picking up his first Major this week.
He is yet to play in an Open but I feel he could be well suited on this course this week, and has been looking good out there in practice. He has had back to back top ten’s at the PGA Championship the past two years and another great seventh place finish in the US Open this year.
Yet to win a PGA Tour event which surprised me. But has been knocking on that door loads of times this season it’s only a matter of time you feel. Good price and a good each way bet for value.

The young scot is well up for this week and so he should be.
Having a fantastic season after finishing off 2020 with a third place and the win at the Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus. We caught up with him the week after the win at the Alfred Dunhill, he had a few wee drams that night and told us he feels the game is ready to get a few more victories in 2021 and who knows he said the dream was the Open.
His last three majors he has made the cut in all of them for 2021, so should be here the weekend one would think.
“Masters 12TH” “PGA Championship 49TH” “US Open 35TH”
The bigger the better quality of fields he seems to find another gear similar to that of Patrick Reed.
The last Open was back in 2019 and where did he finish that week? Sixth place
He is playing I feel better golf than two years ago.

We love Francesco here at GBT knowing him personally for so many years now. He is a world class player who is now getting back in the grove of being a world champion golfer again very soon.
I backed him at the Travelers in June where he missed the cut, but that week he was still playing some good golf and off the back of a great US Open he was rolling back the years finishing in a tie for thirtieth place in the end.
Having slipped out of the world’s top one hundred he is keen to get back in the winners circle.
Winner of the 147th Open in 2018 he followed that with a good 2019 defence of his crown finishing just outside the top ten that week at Royal Portrush.
We have checked out his overall game compared to last year and he has improved on every department apart from his putting, his best putting display was at the US Open where the greens were as pure as which will pretty much be the same this week. I see him improving his strokes gained putting this week and he will be close to the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

The last time I backed Phil for the British Open was back in 2016 it was our first year trading as GBT and after tipping the winner that year at the Masters with Danny Willett at 70/1 we were on FIRE.
If you remember that last day it came down to a battle between Stenson and Phill, one of the greatest final days in Open history well for us anyway. Still he got us a great place return at 35/1.
So after winning the PGA Championship which made history and was so special and I am sure we can allow him to miss the cut the following week at the Charles Schwab. I think he is has now come back to earth and focused on winning the Open. His first appearance at the Open was 1991 check out his results since then:

Not much else to say other than the support he will get from the British fans will be epic and everyone will be routing for him again here this week.

Alex for me again is another player who has come in under the radar this week. But for us laying a bet or too it is good news.
So having played most of his golf in the US of late on the PGA Tour you should check out some of his previous results for this season.
- US Open – 17th
- ZOZO – 17th
- RSM – 18th
- Genesis – 12th
- Memorial – 13th
- Rocket – 4th
Talk about trending in the right direction, decided not to play in Scotland and has been at Royal St Georges practicing a week before anyone else. That smells like “DANGER” to me.
The driving for me now is where it needs to be and after setting up our own track man on a few holes this week during practice the numbers and distances were off the chart.
Another massive positive is how good his putting gets when playing in the UK and if you take his last six events on the PGA Tour this also proves he has found his grove gaining on average one shot on the field every time he tees it up these days.
100/1 in places great bet – Top 10 and Top 20 also a good shout

Always seems to bag us some cash over the years we have backed him and at 100/1 and more I see great value here again for us. His previous two events on the PGA have been the Travelers where he shot a final round 63 in close in a tie for fifth place. He then had another great week at the Rocket Mortgage for yet another top ten with four rounds in the sixties is pretty good reading.
As for his Open record he has made four cuts out of the last five, being a runner up in 2018. Can he go one better this week his game is on and he looks in great shape to take on this challenge.
Look out bookies at this price. He loves a bet or 2 lol

Another great little bet here with Erik. He has played in only two Open’s in his career, the first one was in 2018 where he had a solid week finishing in 17TH place and then 2019 again another top twenty finish. I reckon he pretty much turns up and does the same again here.
This course will suit his overall game better and should be a great place for him to fire in some low scores. The odds are fair around 200/1 across many bookmakers, he has missed five cuts in the US two of them being in Major’s so won’t be many people backing him here. The way he has been playing some of the holes around here it has been exciting to watch. We walked the back nine with him in practice and he shot five under playing a few balls but still holed the putts out.
Top twenty bet would also be a good one here.

Lucas has had a very mixed bag over the past few months. The talk was all about his putting and dealing with the yips. I can safely say that I did not see anything wrong with his putting, the team followed him inside the ropes at the John Deere last Friday and if shooting a 63 and missing a few is having a bad time on the greens then I fancy a bit of this with odds at 300/1.
He is playing well, he was fourth at the Valero Texas Open and then another great week at the Charles Schwab finishing in a tie for tenth. The driver has been playing ball of late and has seen him make over half a shot strokes gained off the tee on the field most weeks.
Another good stat the team pointed out was his par three scoring and the amount of birdies he can make. If he gets out of the gates early doors he could well be a contender come the weekend.
